Jim Bracey (Red Sox 50's) and Steve Mendonca (Hurricanes) locked up in an old fashioned pitching duel with Mendonca and the Hurricanes coming out on top 4-3. Both pitchers scattered 8 hits but two unearned runs in the first (driven in by a Mendonca double and Rich Bowen single follwing 2 errors) and a 2 run single by rapos in the sixth, proved to be the difffernce. In adition to earning the win on the mound, Steve Mendonca was 3-5 with a run scored and an RBI for the Hurricanes. Jim Bracey, Bobby Vincent and Jim Anderson all drove in runs for the Sox, while Jim Cooney had two hits.
